The peculiarity of the modern researcher is characterized by the concentration on large modern cities, and few people think whether the proposed tools are applicable in small regions. The author of the article was puzzled by this question and tried to study the features of management and motivation on the example of the city of Magadan. This region is characterized by an outflow of population, remoteness from the Central regions of Russia and climatic features. Special attention of the author was paid to the values, motives and priorities among the employees formed in the region. The article presents concepts such as the syndrome of delayed life, the altruistic deformation of the personality, a conflict of obligation, etc., and analyzes their influence on the management. The author used the results of the research obtained through: personal interviews; projective techniques, such as metaphorical maps, test Machover K. "the human figure", psihosomaticheskoy test Dellinger S., color psychology, as well as the definition of value orientations on M. Rokicha M. The results can be used by the leaders of the Magadan region in the private and public sectors.
