The modern directions of the food industry in the development of the non-oil sector are examined in the article. The place and importance of the food industry in the development of the non-oil sector is analyzed with this purpose. The role of the food industry in ensuring food security, expanding the range and volume of food products is disclosed. The efficiency of expanding the network of processing enterprises of the food industry to create an additional place in the national product and increase employment is investigated. The dynamics of the volume of food products and production of beverages, agricultural products, grain, vegetables, fruits and berries, meat and milk, bread and bakery products in the food industry of Azerbaijan is analyzed. The suggestions and recommendations on modern directions of the food industry in the development of the non-oil sector are given at the end of the article.
