Abstract:

Nowadays, the Russian food industry is facing cardinal changes; the western corporations are actively penetrating the market. The competition between domestic and foreign food producers, between the Russian and import food has becomes tougher after joining the WTO. This circumstance is bringing the task of optimization of business processes, managements of production resources, ensuring optimum interaction of systems of production and sale of food production into the forefront, i.e. objectively demands essential increase of management efficiency of the branch as a whole and its separate components. In this article, the author has indicated problems of increasing the efficiency of the management of the food industry and offered using strategic management as a basis for the solution of these problems.
