The article emphasizes that the favorable climatic conditions have created the preconditions for the development of agriculture in Iran. Further underlines that the country has long specialized in the direction of the development of agriculture and today the agricultural sector remains one of the most backward in Iran in terms of use of innovations in the country's economy. Therefore, the country's agriculture is characterized by a low productivity. The development of more productive and profitable agricultural sector is important in order to achieve self-sufficiency in agricultural products in the country and the concrete proposals in this regard are offered.
