The article deals with the essence of the concept of "high-tech products". The list of high-tech groups of goods according to the development of the OECD is given. The trade turnover between Russia and China in 2015-2018 is analyzed. The share of high-tech products in Russia's exports to China and Russia's imports from China in 2015-2018 is calculated. It is noted that it is necessary to focus on the production and export of goods with a high degree of processing, high added value and high-tech products in order to increase the export potential of Russia. The features of economic cooperation between Russia and China on the basis of trade turnover of high-tech products in 2015-2018 are revealed. It was determined that the index of high-tech manufacturing in 2018 fell by 4.9% after an increase of 5% in 2017 and 10.1% in 2016. This index includes: the production of medicines and materials used for medical purposes (an increase of 8.2% in 2018); the production of computers, electronic and optical products (a decrease of 1.5%); the production of aircraft, including spacecraft (a drop of 13.5%). As a result of the development of economic cooperation, China is able to provide Russia with both investment and technology, with which it is possible to modernize the economy and establish joint production in high-tech industries.
