The labor market and its real state has a significant impact on the development of the economy, both in a particular region and in the country as a whole. A characteristic feature of the labor market in Russia is its differentiation by subjects of the federation, which is determined by the territorial and geopolitical characteristics of a particular region, a significant difference in the level of employment and unemployment, as well as in the level of socio-economic indicators. In the article, on the basis of the conducted analysis of statistical data, the evaluation of the status and changes of the labour market in the study region is given, and its internal resources are identified. The measures of state support for the development of the regional labor market and improvement of socio-economic conditions of the population to ensure the mobility of domestic labor resources are discussed. The directions of improvement of the labour market taking into account available resources, labor resources and industrial specifics of the studied area to promote a balancing of the needs of the employees are suggested.
