Today, the efficiency of the economy of regions and cities largely depends on the level of their digitalization, which affects all spheres of life. The global megatrend of digitalization of the economy predetermines the need for Russian industrial enterprises to enter the path of digital transformation. The article reveals the importance of digitalization for industrial enterprises in the context of the digital economy, as well as the problem points of the Russian industry on the way of digitalization of production processes. The review of practical aspects of digitalization of industrial enterprises of Perm region is carried out. Perm region has confidently entered the process of digital transformation in the economy and today is one of the ten regions with a developed digital economy. The accumulated and acquired competencies of the region in the field of digital modernization of the economy may be of interest to other territories of the Russian Federation.
