The existing approaches to the definition of competencies in demand in the labor market are considered. It is revealed that in the conducted researches, as a rule, surveys of employers are used. It is proposed to analyze the requirements for applicants for vacancies posted on the job sites. It is noted that the lack of uniformity in the grouping of competencies, as well as the description of the necessary skills in both educational and professional standards and the requirements of employers makes it difficult to collect and process information. The analysis of requirements to applicants on the example of the position "sales manager" in the labor market of Irkutsk is executed. The information base of the study consisted of vacancy announcements posted on the HeadHunter website in the period from February 25 to March 2, 2018. It is revealed that the most demanded general professional (skills of work with the computer and office equipment, competent Russian), communication (communication skills, negotiation skills), and analytical competences (aspiration to professional growth and development), and also behavioral characteristics (activity, work on result, discipline). An attempt is made to identify the requirements that affect the level of wages using a one-factor analysis of variance. It is proposed to use the presented algorithm as a training task for students in order to form a more complete understanding of the real needs of the labor market.
