Abstract:

The study attempts to assess the impact of certain factors, namely the degree of development of the stock market, the banking system and the state of the main financial indicators on the overall financial development of the BRICS countries – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The study is conducted using data from 2005-2016. Within the framework of the work, the main components that characterize the financial development of the economy to some extent are studied and an aggregating indicator is created, which to a certain degree of objectivity can characterize certain aspects of the financial development of the analyzed groups of countries.
