The paper provides the results of a study of the specific effects of cardiac surgery on the levels of the internal picture of the disease (IPD) and the resilience of patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD) who underwent cardiac surgery. The association of the cardiosurgical intervention situation as a stressful event and the patient's resilience is theoretically grounded. Characteristics of patients IPD who underwent surgical methods of treatment are determined by the transformations of emotional and bodily levels - the presentation of multiple painful bodily sensations, the prevalence of affective disturbances of the anxiety spectrum. The resilience of cardiosurgical patients becomes more vulnerable due to a decrease in the personal resource - perseverance. Patients with focus on spiritual / religious coping and safe family and social relationships. The tasks of psychotherapeutic care for patients with IHD who underwent cardiac surgery were formulated.
Highlights:
1. To successfully overcome the adverse living conditions caused by the disease, the person includes "reserve" opportunities.
2. At the sensory level, patients experience vague, obscure bodily sensations due to surgery.
3. The viability of cardiac surgery patients becomes more vulnerable due to the reduction of personal resources – perseverance.
