The ability to reflect is one of the main features that distinguish a person as a species, the study of reflection contains in almost all scientific theories, but empirical data on the formation and development of reflection is very stingy and not systematized. The materials of this article present the results of the study of the features of the development of reflection in adolescence. The data obtained by the author show that the majority of surveyed adolescents have an average level of development of this quality. At the same time, teenagers are very heterogeneous both in terms of the overall level of reflection and its content. The indices of reflection have a positive dynamics in 11-12 years and a sudden decline in indicators during the teenage crisis, which can be explained by the peculiarities of the implementation of intimate and personal communication with peers at different stages of adolescence.

1. The development of reflection causes the teenager's desire for self-expression and self-assertion, the desire to express themselves.
2.The majority of teenage children have an average level of development of this quality.
3. Reflection indicators suddenly decrease during the teenage crisis, this state of affairs is explained by the peculiarities of the implementation of intimate and personal communication with peers.
