Abstract:

The article presents the results of a comparative analysis of the large group of universities in terms of their scientific activity for 2014-2017. The growth of unevenness in the development of scientific activity of higher educational institutions is revealed and a number of assumptions about the causes of the observed phenomenon are formulated. Some conclusions have been drawn about the peculiarities of the transition of the domestic universities to the universities of a new type and their search for their place in the transforming innovative educational system. A group of organizations - leaders of this process is singled out.
