The article considers the role of information in the activities of business and government structures. The author introduces the concept of information infrastructure in the context of the sphere of food supply. The creation of the information system is seen as a key component for the successful conduct of private organizations in cooperation with the public sector and other institutions in the form of public-private partnership (PPP). As a methodological basis of the study, the fundamental theoretical approaches of economic theory are used, including the theory of mixed economy, the theory of state regulation of the economy, the new institutional economic theory, as well as the concept of stakeholders, through the prism of which PPP is presented as the basis for building information infrastructure. The author proposes the definition of public-private partnership based on the analysis of existing approaches in the literature, as well as taking into account the Russian legislation. The theoretical basis of the work is the model of stakeholders as a tool for determining the main agents and their role in the agricultural innovation system based on PPP format. The information system is a key connecting component of interaction, accumulating and disseminating information about consumer preferences and market conditions in the field of food supply, necessary for private entities to better meet public needs with the leading role of the state. The results of the work are considered as a basis for further research of the information infrastructure of the agricultural innovation system, recommendations for the future construction of the integrated information infrastructure.
