Abstract:

The article proves the need to develop agro-food market infrastructure, describes its content and the features of its formation. We outline measures for transformation of the infrastructure support by the regional zones of Russia (the outer periphery, the forest zone, the forest zone, southern regions, and southern mountain regions). We suggest a set of measures for effective development, and identify promising areas for the development of the agro-food market infrastructure (optimization of the structure of trade enterprises, improvement of the information infrastructure, including marketing centers, advertising agencies, permanent wholesale fairs and exhibitions, information and communication facilities). The agro-food market performance largely depends on the state of its infrastructure.
