The article considers the issues of institutional changes in the economy of African countries which contribute to industrial development. Steady increase in foreign direct investments inflows is the key characteristic of investment attractiveness. The author concludes that African countries need to perform structural reforms in order to remove the obstacles to the flows of foreign direct investments. State institutions and investment promotion agencies (IPA) contribute to improving investment climate and the facilitation of foreign direct investment (FDI). In conclusion, we show the factors that will improve the quality of Russian-African investment relations. The article may be of practical interest for experts in the field of world economy and international economic relations, for business structures that are related to the implementation of foreign economic relations.
