The article considers the prerequisites for Russia's transition to the digital economy, resulting in the need for the formation of new knowledge and effective management of this knowledge. We present the statistical data on the level of computer literacy of the population, as well as the direction of the country's shift to the digital economy with the use of modern information resources in the education system. The author suggests an approach to creation of knowledge management system in organizations, which builds in a single process its individual elements.

The transformation of knowledge management in the context of the digital economy improves human competitiveness, creating benefits in the labor market; organizations using it will predict the future, increasing financial stability.
