According to the push-pull theory of motivation, a person is inclined to inactivity by inertia. Effective action is possible through positive reinforcement or indirect guidance. Internal needs and preferences of the head of the enterprise can be a push for him. On the basis of the conducted research on the entrepreneurial environment of small industrial enterprises, we’ve developed a matrix of entrepreneurial behavior types, which makes it possible to classify the predisposition of the head to a certain organization of activity, which in the long term allows to determine the direction of enterprise’s development taking into account the entrepreneur’s internal needs.
