Abstract:

The article presents the results of the analysis of the peculiarities of creation of a new economy based on the concept of Industry 4.0. The study of problems of transition to a new level of development, increasing the pace of innovation, increasing the flexibility and adaptability of business systems are of great interest to the scientific community of different countries. The increasing digitalization dictates new conditions for the functioning and development of the economy. In this context, the paper examines the definition of the essence of the digital economy, its specific features, and basic technologies of the Industry 4.0. We determine the main processes that are subject to transformation for the introduction of the concept at enterprises; we also highlight the competitive advantages achieved in the digital economy as a whole. We study the main challenges and define specific gaps that need to be overcome to develop the digital economy in Russia.
