In the article the author considers the concept of fashion industry in the context of modern economic realities and trends in the development of innovation economy. The author studies promising trends in the development of fashion-industry and clothing retail. We study in detail promising strategic solutions for attracting and retaining the target audience. The trends are illustrated by examples of the activities of specific companies and brands in this industry. The author also focuses on examination of these trends in relation to the situation on the modern Russian clothing retail market.
