The sustainable development of the regional economy involves a reduction in the asymmetric level of the socio-economic situation of the municipal formations of the region, which makes the studies of small and medium-sized cities in terms of indicators characterizing the level of differentiation of the regional territories especially important. The analysis shows on all selected indicators the asymmetric development of the cities of the Lipetsk region, which causes inequality in the living standards of the population and significantly limits the socio-economic development of the region.
