The article analyzes the prospects for creating productive interaction between the state and business in order to build the digital economy in Russia. We show that in a number of key areas of its development there is a significant potential for the application of public-private partnership mechanisms. In particular, they could be applied in implementing projects aimed at creating an information infrastructure, and while developing new domestic digital technologies and products. However, given the extremely high rates of information and communication technologies, the effective implementation of PPP in it will require from the state a much higher degree of flexibility, efficiency in decision-making and confidence in the relationship with the national innovation business.
