Abstract:

A dairy cattle breeding is the main production direction for the agricultural sector of the Smolensk region. The article considers two scenarios for the development of dairy cattle in the Smolensk region for 2017-2020. The first scenario is pessimistic, the second one is optimistic. The main development indicators of dairy cattle breeding in the region were foreseen using econometric modeling based on actual data for 2003-2016 and they take into account the main factors that determine the sustainable development of the industry in the long run.
