Small and private businesses are rapidly developing in Uzbekistan. There has been created favorable legal and economic environment for domestic entrepreneurs and investors. There is also an on-going process of liberalization in the national economy and this positively affects the growth of economic indicators. Successful economic development provides prerequisites for improving the well-being of the population. Steps to further improve the business environment and to develop small business and entrepreneurship continue to be made. The article presents the results of the analysis of the state and prospects for the development of small and private businesses. We also analyze priorities for the development of the private sector.
