The article considers the framework of cooperation of the BRICS countries as a transregional association in the context of globalization and integration. We stress the importance of convergence of views between the BRICS countries in the global political and economic system and in the system of trans-regional relations. The future of BRICS depends on how strong and diversified will be the relations within the association; it also depends on the level and dynamics of bilateral economic relations. We note the peculiarities of foreign trade policy and customs and tariff regulation of the BRICS countries. We focus on the analysis of trade and economic cooperation between Russia, the Urals Federal District and the BRICS countries.
