The article presents the analysis of literary data on the psychological characteristics of elderly patients seeking dental care. Age-related adentia, concomitant diseases, the need for continuous use of medications aggravate the condition of the elderly. As you get older, it’s getting harder to get used to removable orthopedic dental implants. Today there is a large number of tools for studying the psychological status of elderly patients seeking dental treatment. However, such tools have not been as fully utilized as they should be.

• Dysfunction of the mouth involves patient’s psychological discomfort.
• Elderly patients have a number of specific oral cavity problems that can cause psychological changes.
