Abstract:

The article analyzes the peculiarities of employment in the informal sector of the economy and considers quantitative methods and models used to assess the level of employment development in the informal sector of the economy. We’ve made a statistical analysis of employment in the informal sector of the Russian economy. Using the cluster analysis we defined 3 types of regional labor markets corresponding to the selected structure of employment factors in the informal sector of the economy in terms of the level of tension in the labor market. We prove that heterogeneity of regional labor markets in terms of tension indicators in this market can be considered as one of the reasons for employment in the informal sector.
