Abstract:

Development trend of construction industry contributed to the expansion of scientific and applied research in the field of development and introduction of new forms, methods and systems in order to increase competitiveness and efficiency. The transition of industrial and civil construction industry to a higher level of competitiveness in many countries of the world is connected with the creation of fully-fledged BIM models. BIM modeling as a technology is an object of this research. Relevance of the topic is high, since the introduction of BIM technology in Russia can solve a number of problems: the terms of design reduces, operational efficiency of the finished building increases, the number of reprocessing and errors also reduce, and so there are less "gaps" in the information. The purpose of the article is to explain and clarify the essence of BIM technology, to define positive and negative aspects of introduction of this technology, and to give examples of the introduction of BIM into domestic organizations using the method of data collecting and processing. Analytical findings on researched subject are the result of this research. The practical significance of the article lies in its analytical approach to BIM modeling.
