Parental labor is one of the main mechanisms for the reproduction of human capital. Parental labor is a complex and diverse work that requires diverse and significant costs. Performance of parental labor directly affects the quantity and quality of the future human capital of the country. Today parental labor in Russia is very important labor for society, but, at the same time, it is undervalued and almost unpaid, and is characterized by signs of precarization. This labor does not provide stability, guarantees and rights. The phenomenon of precarization (instability, insecurity, precariousness) of parental labor affects the level of reproduction and the quality of human capital which is the scarcest resource of modern society. The article considers the key methodological assessment principles of parental labor as precarious employment. We present the rational of the application of underlined principles, and show the approaches to the analysis of the level of precarization of parental labor. We also show that the methodology for the analysis of signs and levels of precarization of parental labor should take into account the priority of economic aspects in the analysis of the phenomenon of precarization of parental labor, the manifestation of instability in various components of parental labor, the possibility of application of the key parameters of the state of social and labor sphere as indicators of the level of precarization. The importance of scientific understanding of this phenomenon as one of the most significant problems will allow developing a strategy to reduce the level of precarization of parental labor and will allow increasing the efficiency of reproduction of human capital in modern Russia.
