Food security is one of the key components of the national security of the state; it involves preservation of sovereignty, demographic situation of the country and life support, and it is an important condition for maintaining health, longevity, physical activity and a high standard of living for the population. In the article the authors analyze threats and risks related to the issue of ensuring food security of the state under sanctions; they conduct a comparative analysis of the state's provision of domestic products compared with previous periods, and identify the most vulnerable areas of Russian agro-industrial sector. Based on the results of the study, the authors give recommendations for minimizing risks in food security, which can be considered and used in domestic production programs of both regional and federal levels.
