Abstract:

On the basis of the analysis of existing opinions on the essential-substantive characteristics and structure of economic potential of the regions the author has formulated his definition of this concept. We consider different classification of factors of development and realization of economic potential of the region, suggest the classification from the position of socio-cultural approach and define impact criteria and types of factors. Using the results of the study we conclude that there are various factors that have direct and indirect impact on the development of economic potential of the regions and we must take into account these factors during the development and implementation of the effective regional policy.
