Abstract:

The article considers the theory and practice of market transformation of farms in the Russian economy. The authors analyze the theoretical approaches of Chayanov A.V. to the issues of interpretation of peasant forms of management in modern conditions. We focus on the dual nature of farms from the position of institutional theory. We mark out the institutional features of transformation from the position of formal and informal institutions. The authors also analyzed the specific nature of the transformation of different forms of management in the period between the first and second All-Russian agricultural censuses. We identified possible trends and conditions for the further development of farms in the agro-industrial complex of the Russian Federation.
