The article reveals the concept of "labor immigrants", estimates their illegal component in Russia, shows the scale of labor immigration, its dynamics and participation in the economy of different countries. In the work, the major attention is paid to the characterizing of the negative consequences of this phenomenon for the innovative development of the Russian economy, the growth of the remuneration of its citizens and its image in donor countries of labor immigrants.
