Abstract:

The article examines the interconnection between migration experience and re-migration, and a scale for assessing the migration mobility of the population, depending on the genesis structure, has been constructed.

Highlights:

► the likelihood to leave the place of introduction from the new settlers significantly higher than that of the old-timers, and far higher than the indigenous population
► if the region has a high proportion of non-natives, and there is a shortage of jobs, the probability of population loss due to migration of persons who have had migration experiences
► “alien” population is group with migration background in the current or one of previous generations
► high proportion of newcomers among the total migrant stock indicates the appearance of new points of migrants attraction in the region
► highly immobile population are the local natives with a strong social connection with the living area, the probability of their relocation is minimal compared to the other groups
► “moving category” is the population lived in the site of invasion more than 2 but less than 5 years, and the migratory mobility of the population, have lived 5 years lower than the mobility of the settlers who lived in the site of invasion 2 years or less, but higher than the mobility of the old-timers, which is equal to the mobility of the local natives
► by assessing the genesis structure of the population the opportunity to analyze the population that will be targeted to move under certain conditions, that is the migration resource that can be mobilized
► assessment of migration connections of initial departure region (in this case, region of birth) and destination region gives an opportunity to neutralize the effect of intermediate migrations
