Huacqiao in Laos and other countries of Southeast Asia and the People's Republic of China is one of the main investors in a number of integrated projects in the country. The article shows the specificity of interactions between companies of this business community, which share niches with Thai and Vietnamese capital. In Laos, there are no normative specific programs that limit the impact of Chinese capital. For the Chinese it causes problems with the titular majority of the country's population. Lao authorities ignore the growth of Chinese capital into a monopoly in a number of key projects that are economically beneficial to Laos, and that harms the interests of national business. Though a huge benefits of fast money are a "specific airbag" for the economy of Laos. The most important unsolved problems in providing carte blanche to Chinese companies are: contamination of the Mekong river basin and, as a consequence, complications in relationships with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Thailand; damage to the country's agriculture; the need for a dispersed manufactory, related to Chinese, and not to national producer companies.
