The article describes the views on economic adaptation of individuals. We have analyzed the studies of modern Russian scientists on economic adaptation of the individual and have examined their results. The paper considers the concept of economic socialization in the context of personal adaptation. We present the results of pilot empirical study of the attitude to the money of youth as a factor of economic socialization in the context of risks of economic disadaptation of the individual. Economic socialization of students is an object of the study. The subject of the study is the attitude toward money in groups of students and working youth as a factor in the economic socialization of young people. As a result of the empirical study, we found out the differences between groups of young students who have work experience and students who have no work experience. The author draws a conclusion that in general such characteristics as high value of money, desire to save money, perception of money as a reflection of the abilities and efforts are typical for young. At the same time the working students are more likely to have a negative emotional attitude to money, and the students who do not work show more often inadequate attitude towards money. According to the results of the pilot study, the author believes that among working youth the students who experience difficulties in organizing daily activities and feel incapable of changing the circumstances are more liable to the risk of economic disadaptation. Among students who do not work, the students who have limited number of trust relationships with others can be included in a group of risk of economic disadaptation.
