Australia and Canada are advanced regional powers, which have chosen different paths of economic integration in the global space. The article examines two economic strategies, which Ottawa and Canberra follow while facing new challenges of the global economy in the global economic crisis. The tactics of economic strategies for the development of economic cooperation and of its absence results from the specifics of states and political will. The article gives positive and negative sides of two opposite tactics by the example of the Australian Union and Canada in the global economic crisis.
