Abstract:

The article reveals limitations of history and narrow framework of the existing model of human development index, which is one of the most popular ways of measuring the social development of society. It must be logically supplemented with indicators of a wider range of choices of real human capabilities. We present the possible variants of improvement of the model of human development index and the methodology for calculating the currently used special indexes. The paper justifies the need to include in the model of human development index the technology index developed by the authors, which allows to strengthen its status as a more perfect tool for determining the real level of human development of countries and regions, adequate to the challenges of the knowledge economy, and which is also characterized by increasing creative activity. The model of human development index is an indicator that characterizes the spiritual component of human life and an indicator of the axiological world of work that enriches human life. We emphasize a wider horizon for the application of the model of human development index.
