Ekaterinina Mariya V. – (Yaroslavl Medical College)
The article analyses the issue of adaptation of first-year students to the education at medical college, to student life and to various factors that have impact on the development of future experts. Using the example of a study conducted at the Yaroslavl Medical College, we show dependence of students' attitudes toward learning on their problems in student life. To this end we reveal socio-psychological, didactic and professional adaptation criteria.
Highlights:
• It is important to control the process of students' adaptation, this means to consider the phenomena of student life in the analysis of the students
• If a student cannot fully adapt in a new environment, he will have lack of self-confidence
• For some reason the students prefer to solve their problems seeking advice from peers, rather than talk to experienced professionals
• The processes of adaptation and socialization of students are directly interrelated
