For our country the study of family business keeps on being one of the new directions in business psychology. Despite such a difficult economic period, we may see the rise of a new group of "Founders of business dynasties" among the owners of small and medium-sized businesses, the group of entrepreneurs who already have a positive experience in running a family business and are planning to transfer it to the next generation of relatives. The study is aimed at a design of a portrait of a modern “Founder of business dynasties": in other words, definition of important economic and socio-psychological characteristics. The study is based on a survey of 90 representatives of small and medium-sized businesses. The method of statistical processing (correlation analysis) made it possible to identify a significant relation between the variables "Founder of business dynasties" and "The impact of family relationships on business," while economic and social characteristics remained insignificant. The obtained result gives grounds to affirm that it is these qualitative characteristics of the existing relationships in the family that contribute to the rise of future business dynasties.
