Enterprises are forced to search for new alternative sources of financing because of the unstable situation in the Russian economy. The article analyses different sources of financing of investment projects taking into account various criteria. Mezzanine financing holds an intermediate place between participation and debt financing and is considered as a hybrid project financing tool. We present a possible nature of participation of a commercial bank in mezzanine financing. We also describe Russian experience in mezzanine financing transactions.
