Abstract:

The article is devoted to the assessment of economic education over the past 40-50 years and the analysis of statistical data on the quality of education in Russia and abroad at present time. The authors made a review of economic education, examined the main problems of its development and outlined possible ways of their solution. One of the options for the further development of education may be a new educational model, according to which, every economic university is directly connected to the economic enterprises of the country and has its own production site (training enterprise). As a result, we see a decrease in government expenditure on financing of economic institutions, which earn their own funds, are in close contact with the "customer of educational services," and graduate specialists who have work experience and are ready to work at economic enterprises in modern Russia. Enterprises, in their turn, are provided with qualified staff that satisfies the employer.
