In this paper we define the demand for domestic tourism in the Russian Federation and analyze determinants of domestic tourism demand. As determinants of demand we consider the number of Russians and their average income per month, average costs of trips around the country and abroad, the lag variable, which shows the attachment to trips, and dummy variables reflecting the sanctions. The studies have shown low elasticity of demand in terms of population and income, and high elasticity of demand in terms of tourism products costs. Using multiple regression models we have received tourist flow assessments which slightly differ from observed indexes and are statistically significant. The results of the study may be useful for planning the domestic tourism development.
