Abstract:

The paper analyses social entrepreneurship – the use of the best traditional entrepreneurship practices to achieve social goals or fulfill a social mission. The author identified the main characteristics of social entrepreneurship: social impact aimed at mitigating the existing social problems, continuous development, financial sustainability, replicability; and formulated the existing barriers to its development: lack of social, economic and fiscal prerequisites, insufficient control of professional associations/ inflexible taxation and promotion of social entrepreneurs.
