Abstract:

The article studies the current approaches to the solution of certain social problems by the example of Germany as a representative of the European Union. We examine in particular the elements of the financial mechanism of organization of social security and social citizens protection. We also examine the participants, beneficiaries, amount of payments of social security system in case of temporary disability, maternity and caring for dependents. We obtain the principles and problems of the organization of social protection in the European Union.


Highlights:

- all issues of social protection of migrant workers and their families are resolved within the European. However, the problem of citizens who can not pay the premiums remains unresolved.
- Germany is a country which has fully implemented the principles of the conservative model. The first social security system has been introduced there.
- private entrepreneurs and self-employed workers are not included in the compulsory insurance system and do not pay compulsory contributions.
- social protection system in the EU is based on a compulsory social insurance as well as in the Russian Federation. Its main elements and the financial mechanism are also similar, as beeing created on a base of the main model
- problems of social security in the EU, particularly in Germany, are also typical for the Russian Federation in the current situation
