Abstract:

Rural territories possess great potential for regional development which yet remains unrealized. Implementation of the state program is accompanied by a positive result in certain sphere of territorial development, which proves that the direction has been chosen correctly. But each transformation requires considerable investments in various branches of agricultural production and development of rural territories. USA’s and Canada’s experience forms a new promising direction: formation of sustainable civil communities interested in high economic results in rural areas. The article presents an evaluation of the present state of investment support of the development of rural territories, presents forecast limitations and propositions as for the future development variants. The article may be of interest for public authorities, including local ones, that invest in local economies, as well as to the investors considering promising directions.
