Abstract:

The study discloses specific features of nano industry from a perspective of its international comparative analysis. Identification issues of nano technologies and nano industry are determined that are explained by multi-, trans- and interdisciplinarity of the nano science and crucial differences between generations of both nano technologies and nano-containing products made by them. The system character of the nano industry is critically reconsidered, the dynamics of its development in different countries is analyzed. The conclusion is drawn about the need in the special emphasis on the study of institutions and stakeholders at carrying out of the comparative analysis of nano industries in different countries that, if combined with the use of the modified version of functionalism allows to implement the benchmark and reflective functions of comparative studies. The article is interesting to researchers in the field of innovative economics, theory of economic development, economics of nano industry and theory of economic orders.
