The article deals with the current state of development of the gas industry in Russia, based on the results of the analysis of which the need to foster innovation is concluded. It is shown that the introduction of different types of innovation leads to organizational, technical and personal changes, which may be opposed by individual staff members and the services of the enterprise as a whole. It is proposed to apply project management techniques, quality management and logistics innovations to manage changes in the chain of innovations for gas transmission companies. Available tools will be of interest to teachers and graduate students of higher educational institutions, as well as professionals involved in innovation management in the energy industry.
