Abstract:

The article is devoted to the shadow banking system that is the type of credit mediation opposite to the traditional banking one. Like the banking business, the shadow banking system transforms credit, liabilities and liquidity. The volume of the banking system is approximately 60 trillion dollars or 25-30% of the global financial sector. The article analyzes the structure of the shadow banking system and its specific features as well as system risks that it causes. This article will be interesting for experts of the banking sphere, trade analysts and everybody interested in functioning of the modern financial system.
