Abstract:

The extent of impact of transport infrastructure development as a horizontal industrial policy tool, on the productivity of domestic enterprises at the regional level is currently not sufficiently explored. In the current economic environment, where, on the one hand, there is a need to stimulate economic growth in the short term and create the conditions for structural changes and increase of growth in the medium term, and, on the other hand, the amount of available funding is limited, such an analysis is particularly relevant. The authors of the article shows that the Russian regions have a sufficient reserve for increasing the density of the road network, the elimination of which will result in growth of total productivity of domestic enterprises. The emphasis needs to be done first and foremost on the development of roads within establishment and modernization of extended road routes given the possibility of their inclusion in multimodal transport systems.
