Abstract:

The article is dedicated to the influence of different components of trade costs on the volume and routing of the Russian regions’ trade flows. The authors have performed separate assessments of the specifics of the gravity trade model as for the marine, rail and road transport. It has been demonstrated that the influence of the institutional and infrastructural components of trade costs on the volume and routing of trade flows is, at the very least, comparable to the influence of the direct costs of commodity transportation.
